Unveiling KHPOA'S Strategic Plan: A New Era in Healthcare

Nairobi  June12,2024 , Principal Secretary of the State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, unveiled the Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority (KHPOA) inaugural Strategic Plan for 2023/2024 to 2027/2028. This milestone underscores the State Department's commitment to maintaining high standards in healthcare delivery and professional practice across Kenya.

The Plan focuses on five key result areas: 

1. Health Professionals Regulations

2. Enhancing Citizens' Right to Life

3. Improving Health Service Delivery

4. Research and Innovation

5. Institutions Capacity Development

Developed through extensive stakeholder collaboration, the strategic plan aims to create a responsive, inclusive, and patient-centered healthcare system. 

In her address, the PS called for unwavering commitment from all stakeholders, including healthcare providers, policymakers, and advocacy groups, to support KHPOA in the implementation of this strategic plan. 

"Its success depends on the commitment of all stakeholders to achieve a vision of accessible, high-quality healthcare for all," urged PS Muthoni.

This strategic plan marks the beginning of a new era in Kenya's healthcare sector, aiming to elevate standards and ensure that every citizen has access to top-tier health services.
