Nairobi August 29, 2023 The Government is shifting focus from curative health  to preventive and promotive health as a key strategy for Universal Health Coverage ( UHC),aimed at lowering the burden of preventable diseases.

In this regard,the Ministry  in collaboration with Development partners has embarked on the establishment of Primary Care Networks that will facilitate efficient diagnosis and referrals at community levels.

Principal Secretary State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni held discussions with officials from Population Service Kenya on strategies for encouraging health seeking behavior  among  communities.

PS Kenya has a long history of collaboration with the Ministry of Health in key areas among them  Health promotion and Social & Behaviour Change Communication (SBC).

The PS reiterated  that the Ministry will leverage on such partnerships to empower communities to make right health choices for a healthier productive nation as envisioned in the #AfyaBoraMashinani agenda.
