The Ministry of Health reaffirmed its commitment to delivering highly specialized medical services to Kenyans while ensuring optimal value for money during a consultative meeting with the Council of Governors.

The PS provided an update to the Governors on the preparations for the nationwide launch of Primary Health Care and reiterated its dedication to fostering an environment of mutual trust between the two levels of government through constant consultation and cooperation, as enshrined in the constitution.
The Kenyan Ministry of Health, led by Eng. Peter K. Tum, the Principal Secretary for Medical Services, held a consultative meeting with the Council of Governors to discuss the Managed Equipment Scheme (MES) and the upcoming nationwide launch of Primary Health Care.
The Managed Equipment Scheme (MES), which was launched in 2013, aims to improve access to specialized health services by equipping public hospitals with modern medical equipment. The Ministry and the Governors discussed ways to enhance the implementation of the scheme, including the need for regular maintenance and servicing of the equipment.
The consultative meeting provided an opportunity for both the national and county governments to engage in open and constructive dialogue, which is essential for effective healthcare service delivery in Kenya. The Ministry expressed its willingness to continue working closely with the Governors to ensure that all Kenyans have access to quality healthcare services.
