Nairobi, Kenya 3rd July 2024 - Today, Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Mr. Harry Kimtai, met with a delegation from Kakamega County Government led by Dr. Bernard Wesonga, CEC Health Services, to discuss the completion of Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital. 

Initiated in 2016 with a capacity of 750 beds, discussions centred on resource allocation for completion and operationalisation, as well as forming a technical committee for the hospital's handover roadmap. 

Dr. Wesonga highlighted the hospital's role in healthcare and regional economic growth. Mr. Kimtai affirmed support for the project, stressing its significance for Universal Health
