Ps Mary Muthoni Meets Netherlands Ambassador to Discuss Areas of Collaboration for Universal Health Coverage

Nairobi Monday July17,2023 Principal Secretary State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni received a courtesy call from the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Kenya H.E Maarten Brouwer. They discussed priority areas for collaboration between Kenya and the Netherlands.

At the centre of the discussion was the topic of climate change and health. The two officials explored a collaboration between the two Governments to sponsor a resolution on climate change and health.

Ms. Muthoni noted that the discussion was quite timely coming at a time when Kenya is gearing up to host the Africa Climate Summit with health and climate change as part of the agenda.

The meeting also looked into partnership to strengthen Primary Health Care with a particular focus on equipping low level health centres with diagnostic facilities.

The PS welcomed proposed strategic collaborations to advance the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda.
