PS Mary Muthoni Meets Isiolo County Commissioner’s Office to Strengthen National–County Collaboration on Public Health Delivery
Isiolo , 2026 Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, met with the representative of the Isiolo County Commissioner's Office for a strategic consultative engagement aimed at reinforcing collaboration between the National and County Governments on public health delivery.
The discussions focused on key public health priorities in Isiolo County, including ongoing Government development projects and emerging health concerns within the region. The Principal Secretary commended the strong coordination at the grassroots level, particularly the impactful work of Community Health Promoters (CHPs) in driving preventive and promotive health interventions within communities.
She underscored the importance of utilizing public Barazas as effective community platforms for health education, behavioral change communication, and citizen engagement. The meeting also emphasized strengthening Primary Healthcare systems, enhancing referral networks, and ensuring that healthcare services remain accessible, efficient, and people-centered.
The engagement reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to a Whole-of-Government approach in delivering quality healthcare services and improving health outcomes for the people of Isiolo.
