PS Mary Muthoni Explores Strategies for Improving Infrastructure at the Primary Health Care Departments

Nairobi May 30,2023 Achieving the Universal Health Coverage goal calls for a paradigm shift, in view of this,the government is shifting focus from curative health to preventive and promotive health. This approach is aimed at reducing infections and deaths from preventable diseases, a move that will not only decongest our public health facilities but also ensure a healthy productive nation.

 
PS State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni has today visited the departments of Community Health,Family Health National Public Health Laboratories,the National Public Health Reference Laboratories and the National Tuberculosis Leprosy Disease Control Programme. These departments are among the drivers of Primary Health Care that will steer the country towards #AfyaBoraMashinani.
 
The purpose of the visit was to assess infrastructural gaps in terms of human resource and equipment in view of addressing them to enhance service delivery to Wanjiku.
 
The PS promised to work with relevant stakeholders to improve on available infrastructure in the most cost effective way.
