Principal Secretary For Medical Services Meets With Global Fund Delegation To Assess TB, Malaria & HIV Programs

Nairobi, Kenya, April 4, 2023 

Eng. Peter K. Tum, the Principal Secretary for Medical Services, held a meeting today with a delegation from the Global Fund led by Paul McCarrick, the Senior Fund Portfolio Manager. The discussions at the meeting focused on assessing the programs being supported by Global Fund in TB, Malaria, and HIV programs.
The Global Fund has been a significant partner in the fight against TB, Malaria, and HIV in Kenya. The meeting was an opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of the programs being implemented with their support.
During the meeting, PS Tum expressed his gratitude for the support received from the Global Fund and pledged to strengthen the accounting mechanism to ensure that the objectives of the programs are met. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that Kenyans receive the services as envisaged.
The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss ways of enhancing collaboration between the government and the Global Fund to improve the effectiveness of the programs.
