Garissa, Kenya - September 15, 2023 - As the expected El Nino rains approach Kenya in October, several counties have embarked on proactive preparations to minimize potential risks and ensure the well-being of their communities. Among these counties are Mandera, Marsabit, Wajir, and Garissa.Β

Β Director of Health for Garissa County, Aden Ibrahim, has expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Health-Kenya and the World Health Organization (WHO) for their collaborative efforts in organizing the Integrated Case Management & Surveillance training for healthcare workers in the region.

The primary goal of this training program is to equip healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to detect, diagnose, and manage cases effectively at healthcare facilities.Β

Aden Ibrahim emphasized the importance of participants sharing their newfound knowledge and skills with fellow health workers and community health volunteers. This collaborative effort ensures a more coordinated and effective healthcare response when the El Nino rains arrive.
