Kenya, Angola Move to Implement Joint Health Priorities

Nairobi, Kenya -  - Kenya and Angola have committed to accelerating implementation of their bilateral health partnership following a high-level meeting between Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale and Angola’s Minister of Health, Dr. Sílvia Paula Valentim Lutucuta.

The engagement reviewed progress under the Memorandum of Understanding and identified priority areas for immediate action, including human resources for health, research and innovation, digital health, immunisation, and malaria control.

Kenya’s ongoing reforms toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC) provided a practical reference point, with lessons drawn from implementation across primary healthcare, financing, and service delivery informing the collaboration.

Both countries agreed to fast-track the operationalisation of the Joint Technical Committee and Technical Working Group, alongside the rollout of the 2025–2030 Work Plan, to ensure measurable outcomes and sustained accountability.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening resilient, inclusive health systems and advancing results-driven cooperation across the African continent.
