Kenya Leads Drive for Stronger Health Emergency Preparedness
Rabat, Morocco , 2025 On Day 2 of the Bi-Regional Health Emergency Leaders’ Meeting in Rabat, Kenya led WHO-Afro English-speaking countries in shaping the planned Health Emergency Leaders’ Network.
The network aims to strengthen preparedness by mapping key players, improving cross-border collaboration, and ensuring trusted, timely information sharing during crises.
Speaking at the session, Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni emphasized the critical role of diplomacy and policymaker engagement in operationalizing agreements. She noted that the establishment of the network will be pivotal in safeguarding health systems, protecting communities, and advancing global health security.
