Nairobi , 2024 Principal Secretary, State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muriuki met with the UNICEF Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) team, led by Chief of WASH, Mr. Haile Gashaw. The discussion focused on aligning WASH priorities and  interventions with Universal Health Coverage (UHC) goals.

This meeting serve as preparation for the upcoming Kenya Sanitation Alliance (KSA) Meeting, scheduled for this week. The KSA meeting will bring together representatives from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, UNICEF, USAID, and stakeholders from 15 counties with high rates of open defecation to review progress in ending open defecation among others.
