LEVERAGING ON PARTNERSHIPS TO ADVANCE THE HEALTH AGENDA

Montreal July3,2023 Development partners play a crucial role in supporting the Government’s efforts to build a strong and resilient health systems. Principal Secretary State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni had a meeting with partners on the sidelines of the International Council of Nurses (ICN) Congress in Montreal Canada,. The discussions delved into the critical role played by Primary Health Care givers including nurses, midwives and Community Health in advancing the Universal Health Coverage Agenda and strategies for enhancing nursing and midwifery education programs to align with current healthcare needs and emerging technologies.

They also  explored strategies for  addressing workforce challenges collaboratively, between government agencies, development partners, healthcare institutions, professional associations, and educational institutions to achieve sustainable health outcomes.

To support Government Digitization Agenda, they  also  explored collaborations to implement telemedicine and E-health platforms for efficient and effective health service delivery.
