Kenya’s Remarkable Progress in Local Manufacturing Highlighted at the 7th East Africa Pharma Expo

Nairobi, Kenya, 3rd October 2023 - Dr. Tom Menge, the HPTs lead at the Ministry of Health, emphasized the substantial growth of local manufacturing in Kenya during his presentation at the 7th East Africa Pharma Expo hosted at KICC Nairobi. 

Kenya has reached a significant milestone with the production of 132 Health Products Technologies (HPTs) within the country. 

In anticipation of the Local Manufacturing Expo scheduled for the 13th and 14th of this month, the Ministry is preparing to introduce critical documents that will further strengthen local manufacturing. 

These documents include the Kenya Essential List 2023, Essential diagnostics, formulary list, and essential medical supplies lists.
