Kenya's Labs: Driving Universal Health Coverage and Global Security

𝐍𝐚𝐤𝐮𝐫𝐮, 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐚 - 𝟗 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑- To achieve Universal Health Coverage, National Laboratories must proactively address and prevent new threats, aligning with the traditional principles of prevention, promotion, and protection. 

Speaking during the National Laboratory Stakeholders Meeting in Nakuru County, Mr. Harry Kimtai, Principal Secretary of the State Department for Medical Services, acknowledged Kenya's laboratories as centers of scientific excellence, emphasizing their role in research, disease surveillance, and innovation to tackle complex challenges.

He commended scientists and researchers for enhancing the nation's medical laboratory capabilities, crucial for global health security. Mr. Kimtai urged continued open dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration within the laboratories. 

Highlighting partnerships with WHO, CDC, AMREF, and the World Bank, he emphasized the government's commitment to cutting-edge technology development supporting stakeholders and partners in achieving UHC in Kenya.
