Kenya's Healthcare Reform Drive Progress on the 60th Jamhuri Day

During his address on the 60th Jamhuri Day, President William Samoei Ruto highlighted Kenya's remarkable progress in healthcare reform, setting the stage for improved well-being and economic prosperity for the nation.
 

Underlining healthcare as a pillar of national development, President Ruto emphasized the successful execution of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) plan.

Notably, legislative actions were taken to institute the Emergency, Chronic, and Critical Illness Fund, guaranteeing accessible treatment for conditions like cancer, diabetes, and hypertension, thereby lessening financial burdens on citizens.

Furthermore, President Ruto highlighted the nationwide deployment of 100,000 community health promoters, indicating a fundamental shift towards preventive healthcare measures.
 

In recognition of their distinguished services to the nation during today's celebrations, Health Cabinet Secretary Nakhumicha S. Wafula was honored with the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (E.G.H.) and Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muriuki with CBS by the President among others.
