Kenya's Bold Leap Towards Global Health Leadership Through International Vaccine Institute Partnership

Mombasa Friday December 1, 2023 Principal Secretary State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni has today engaged Departmental Committee on Health from the National Assembly to deliberate on Kenya’s bid to ascend to the agreement on the establishment of the International Vaccine Institute. 

The PS noted that the accession is set to establish strategic collaborations towards building vaccine manufacturing capabilities in Kenya and support the attainment of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) under our “AFYA NYUMBANI” flagship program. 

She commended the pivotal participation of the Committee on Health in discussions saying it signifies Kenya's profound commitment to national and international health security. 

"It amplifies the voice of governance in endorsing a collaborative framework for vaccine development and distribution." Said the PS.
