Morocco , 30th September 2023 - Today, Mr. Harry Kimtai, the Principal Secretary for Medical Services at the Ministry of Health, participated in the 1st Manufacturers Marketplace meeting for African Union member states.

This event, hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco in collaboration with Africa CDC and Gavi, aims to advance the manufacturing of human vaccines and health products across the continent.

During the sessions, Mr. Kimtai engaged in discussions with, among others, Dr. Jean Kaseya, the Director-General of Africa CDC. Dr. Kaseya expressed the commitment of Africa CDC to accelerate African Vaccine Manufacturing and the production of other essential health products.

In Kenya, local manufacturing, including vaccines and Health Products and Technologies (HPTs), is a pivotal economic pillar of our administration. It will significantly contribute to achieving universal health coverage by ensuring the availability of safe, effective, high-quality, and affordable HPTs. Pandemic, Prevention, Preparedness, and Response (PPPR) is the New Public Health Order.
