Kenya Sanitation Alliance Meeting Advances National Hygiene Goals and Collaboration
Nairobi June 10-15, 2024 The 7th Kenya Sanitation Alliance (KSA)Quarterly Review Meeting is currently underway in Nairobi , the meeting brings together the National Government, County Governments and Development Partners to review progress and address ongoing challenges in sanitation and hygiene.
Key focus is on reducing healthcare-associated infections, advancing Kenya's Vision 2030 and Sustainable Development Goal 6.2 for universal sanitation access, and emphasizing the economic benefits of investing in sanitation.
Speaking when she presided over the meeting, Principal Secretary State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni informed that the Ministry of Health launched the National Rural Sanitation and Hygiene Protocol featuring Implementation Guidelines, a Monitoring Framework, and a National Costed Sanitation and Hand Hygiene Roadmap to build stakeholder capacity on hygiene and sanitation.
PS Muthoni called for collaboration among county governments and other stakeholders to ensure a healthier future for Kenyans.
