Kenya Inaugurates New KMPDC Board To Improve Healthcare Services And Achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

Nairobi (Kenya), March 23, 2023

In a bid to improve the quality of healthcare services in Kenya, the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr. Nakhumicha S. Susan, inaugurated the new KMPDC Board earlier today. The event, which was attended by various officials from the Ministry of Health, including two Chief Administrative Secretaries, Mr. James Kimanthi Mbaluka and Hon. Khatib Abudallah Mwashetani, marked the beginning of a new era of healthcare provision in the country.
During the inauguration, PS Dr. Josephine Mburu challenged the new Board to maintain a strong focus on providing exceptional services to Kenyans, while upholding professional ethics and ensuring that standards are maintained for quality service delivery. The CS Health also implored the Board to be strategic in delivering its mandate to ensure that KMPDC contributes to the overall achievement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
The Chair of the Council, Prof. Stanley Khainga, and the members, Dr. Patrick Amoth, Prof. Stephen Ogendo, Dr. Elizabeth Gitau, Dr. Timothy Theuri, Moses Kiptanui, Sarah Bonaya, Dr. Rose Kosgei, and Livingstone Bumbe, bring diverse perspectives and expertise to the new Board, which will help KMPDC achieve its mandate and make significant strides towards ensuring quality healthcare for all Kenyans.
The new Board was gazetted earlier this month and is expected to play a critical role in shaping the healthcare sector in Kenya in the coming years. With their expertise and commitment, the new appointees are well-positioned to ensure that KMPDC contributes to the overall goal of achieving UHC in the country.
