Kenya Hosts Regional Workshop on Preventing Sexual Exploitation and Abuse

Nairobi, Kenya - 5thย December 2023ย - Onย Tuesday, Mr. Harry Kimtai, the Principal Secretary of the State Department for Medical Services, inaugurated the Global Fund International Ethics Capacity Building Workshop in Kenya.ย 

This inaugural regional event focusing on Ethics and Prevention from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) will run from the 5th to theย 7th of December, with 200 delegates from eighteen Anglophone African Countries in attendance.ย 

ย Hosted by Kenya, the workshop aims to bolster the country's capabilities in directing attention towards program performance, quality, and safeguarding against Sexual Exploitation and Harassment.ย 

During his address, the PS highlighted Kenya's proactive stance in implementing policies and measures to prevent and address instances of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment.

The workshop has attracted participation from a broad spectrum of nations, including Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, South Africa, Tanzania (including Zanzibar), Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Rwanda, Gambia, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Kenya.
