Kenya, Global Fund Discuss Future Health Partnership

Nairobi, Kenya -  - Cabinet Secretary for Health Hon. Aden Duale held a strategic meeting with Global Fund Vice President Bience Gawanas on the margins of the World Health Summit Regional Meeting in Nairobi.


The meeting focused on Kenya’s ongoing health reforms and the future of collaboration, with discussions highlighting the Global Fund’s support in HIV treatment, tuberculosis control, malaria reduction, and broader health system strengthening.

The Cabinet Secretary briefed the delegation on progress under Taifa Care and Universal Health Coverage, noting that over 30 million Kenyans are enrolled in social health insurance, supported by a growing community health workforce.

Kenya reaffirmed its commitment to increasing domestic resource mobilisation amid tightening global health financing, while sustaining essential health programmes.

Both sides also identified opportunities to deepen collaboration in local pharmaceutical manufacturing and digital health to strengthen system resilience and efficiency.

The Cabinet Secretary was accompanied by Director-General for Health Dr. Patrick Amoth and senior Ministry officials.
