Kenya and India Deepen Health Partnership to Advance Universal Health Coverage

 - Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale held talks with H.E. Dr. Adarsh Swaika, High Commissioner of India to Kenya, reaffirming the strong Kenya–India partnership and exploring new areas of collaboration to advance Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and strengthen health systems.

The discussions focused on supporting Taifa Care, expanding digital health, strengthening specialist medical training, promoting local pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing, and enhancing epidemic preparedness and health security.

The two sides also committed to fast-tracking the Kenya–India Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Medicine and convening a joint investment roundtable to deepen collaboration in healthcare innovation, financing and technology transfer.

Also present were Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Ms. Mary Muthoni, Director-General for Health Dr. Patrick Amoth, and Ag. Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya National Public Health Institute, Dr. Kamene Kimenye.
