Health Cabinet Secretary Nakhumicha Fact-Finding Tour Highlights Government's Commitment to Healthcare Accessibility

Nairobi, Kenya, March 19, 2024 - The Cabinet Secretary for Health Nakhumicha S. Wafula conducted a comprehensive assessment during her visits to the Spinal Injury Referral Hospital, Mama Margaret Uhuru Hospital, and Kenyatta National Hospital, reaffirming the government's commitment to Universal Health Coverage in Nairobi County.

 Addressing the media during the tour, CS Nakhumicha expressed satisfaction with the smooth service delivery in all Government-accredited referral hospitals across Kenya, commending the dedication of medical personnel and urging patients to attend their regular clinics.
At Kenyatta National Referral Hospital, she called upon Governors to find solutions to potential crises as the national administration implements promises from a collective bargaining agreement signed in 2017.
 CS Nakhumicha assured the public that all referral hospitals are fully operational, emphasizing the importance of utilizing public facilities to receive quality services.
Accompanied by acting Health Director General Dr. Patrick Amoth and KNH Chief Executive Officer Dr. Evanson Kamuri, she appealed to Kenyans to enroll in the Social Health Authority (SHA) for a seamless transition from NHIF to SHIF.
