Health Cabinet Secretary Leads UHC Inspection and Aid Distribution Across Lamu, Kilifi, and Mombasa Counties

Lamu, Kenya - 5th November 2023 - The Cabinet Secretary for Health, Nakhumicha S. Wafula spearheaded a comprehensive inspection focused on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) across Lamu, Kilifi, and Mombasa counties.

Commencing this significant initiative, in Lamu the CS initiated a courtesy meeting with Governor Issa Timamy before engaging in the inspection tour. 

Accompanied by Lamu Governor Issa Timamy, Public Health and Professional Standards PS Mary Muthoni, and Government Spokesman Isaac Mwaura, the CS meticulously inspected King Fahad Hospital. 

During the visit, vital health supplies, including Health Products and Technologies (HPTs), cholera kits, and mosquito nets, were distributed.

Additionally, a gesture emphasizing support for community healthcare, the CS handed over mobile phones to 200 Community Health Practitioners (CHPs). 

Concluding the visit, the CS flagged off a medical consignment, incorporating cholera kits, aiming to fortify healthcare resources in these regions. 

This comprehensive assessment and aid distribution underscore the government's commitment to assessing healthcare facilities and ensuring equitable resource allocation across the counties.
