Health Cabinet Secretary Leads Flood Relief Efforts and Extends Support to Flood-Affected Communities in Meru and Isiolo Counties

Cabinet Secretary for Health, Nakhumicha, spearheaded the distribution of 10,000 mosquito nets in Tigania West, Meru County, as part of the government's comprehensive strategy to mitigate the extensive impact of floods nationwide.

In Isiolo County, alongside CSs Mithika Linturi and Florence Bore, the Cabinet Secretary provided essential aid to families severely affected by the floods. This assistance included vital supplies such as food supplements, notably porridge flour for children, 25,000 mosquito nets, and a hunger safety net cheque totaling KES 37,203,300.

"As a government, we are taking resolute measures to prevent human casualties and reduce property damage caused by this disaster," emphasized Nakhumicha during the relief operations.

Additionally, at the event, Nakhumicha addressed local residents, highlighting the risks of early pregnancies and advocating for HIV/AIDS prevention measures. She also distributed smartphones to community health promoters.
