Government Launches Nationwide Health Facility Assessment Census to Enhance Service Delivery

Nairobi, KENYA - August 14, 2023 - In a move aimed at improving healthcare services and addressing gaps within the sector, the government has launched a comprehensive nationwide health facility assessment census. 
 
This census will meticulously evaluate various aspects of the health system, including health personnel, infrastructure, products, technologies, and service provision. 
 
The collaboration between the Ministry, health professional regulatory agencies, and County Governments will play a pivotal role in executing this assessment. 
 
 Secretary for Health, Nakhumicha S. Wafula, extended gratitude to stakeholders and contributors who are actively involved in this initiative. "We express our appreciation to all stakeholders and implementers who are actively engaged and supporting this process," CS Health stated. 
 
The National Health Facility Census represents a united endeavor involving National and County governments, private sector partners, faith-based organizations, and healthcare experts. 
 
The CS Health  emphasized the importance of this initiative in shaping the future of healthcare. "By conducting a comprehensive assessment of our health facilities, we will gather invaluable data that will inform policy formulation, planning, and programming within the health sector," she noted. 
 
This census serves as a crucial step towards achieving Universal Health Coverage and prioritizing the well-being of all citizens.
