On Friday January 2, 2024, during a Universal Health Coverage (UHC) spot check at Ikolomani Level 4 Hospital in Kakamega County, Health Cabinet Secretary Nakhumicha S. Wafula reaffirmed the government's commitment to providing pregnant women and infants with essential health services.

CS Nakhumicha emphasized the importance of services like antenatal, delivery, and postnatal care, urging residents to enroll in the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).
