Government Bolsters Response Efforts to Tackle El Nino Impact

Nairobi, Kenya - 29th November 2023 - Today Cabinet Secretary for Health Nakhumicha S. Wafula attended the Adhoc Committee on Emergency Response, chaired by the Deputy President H.E Rigathi Gachagua.

The session focused on addressing the impact of El-Nino flooding in Kenya, discussing comprehensive responses such as humanitarian aid, medical supplies, food distribution, and infrastructure rehabilitation.

The DP said the Government has tightened coordination at the national level to ensure a better and quicker response to the adverse effects of the ongoing El Nino rains, aiming to avert further loss of lives and property.
