Government Allocates Kshs 94 Million to Taita Taveta County for Healthcare Enhancement

Taita Taveta, Kenya - 29th January 2024 - In a bid to bolster healthcare delivery in Taita Taveta County, the Government of Kenya has allocated a substantial sum of Kshs 94 million.ย 

This allocation, announced by Health Cabinet Secretary Nakhumicha S. Wafula during the commemoration of National Cervical Cancer Awareness Month at Mwatunge grounds, signifies a strategic collaboration between national and county administrations.

ย CS Nakhumicha emphasized that the Kshs 94 million injection is a significant boost towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) objectives.

The funds will be instrumental in various initiatives aimed at improving healthcare accessibility and quality within the county.

One notable aspect of the allocation is the distribution of fully equipped kits and mobile devices to local Community Health Promoters (CHPs).

These resources underscore the government's commitment to enhancing digital healthcare at the grassroots level and empowering healthcare champions within communities.

Furthermore, CS Nakhumicha highlighted the importance of local healthcare facilities in driving the government's Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (Beta).
