Exploring Innovative Tool To Monitor Progress Of Primary Care Networks

Nairobi, Tuesday October 4, 2023 In a significant step towards achieving the government's universal health coverage agenda and advancing the digitization of healthcare services, Principal Secretary State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni Muriuki today met  representatives from Amref Health Africa,Kenya  to explore the development of a dashboard designed to aid  the tracking of primary healthcare networks (PCNs).

The   dashboard is expected to enable real-time monitoring of critical elements such as the referral system, maternal and child health outcomes, disease trends, and more. 

By harnessing data from this dynamic tool, policymakers and healthcare providers will be empowered to make informed decisions and strategically direct investments where they are needed most, to achieve optimal healthcare outcomes for all citizens.

The PS said the Ministry will collaboration with a wide array of stakeholders, including county governments and development partners. "Together, we  will shape the framework for establishing and operationalizing this  tool, marking a significant milestone in the quest for universal health coverage and data-driven healthcare excellence." She said.
