CS Duale in Strategic Meeting with Apollo Hospitals
Nairobi, Kenya - - Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale held a bilateral meeting with a delegation from Apollo Hospitals led by Mr Dinesh Madhavan to explore partnerships aimed at strengthening Kenya’s healthcare system. The discussions focused on capacity building, support for clinical trials, and expanding advanced cancer care programmes, including specialised interventions such as proton therapy.
The Government will leverage Apollo’s technical expertise to enhance cancer centres and build skills in neurology, CyberKnife services, kidney transplant training, cardiac care, and paediatric surgery certification and training at KUTRRH.
Hon Duale also updated the delegation on ongoing health sector reforms, including the digitisation of healthcare and the rollout of the Social Health Authority (SHA), all geared towards improving access to quality, patient-centred services.
This collaboration underscores Kenya’s commitment to expanding local medical capacity and strengthening international partnerships for improved health outcomes.
He was accompanied by the Director-General for Health, Dr Patrick Amoth, and the Ministry’s Director for Curative and Nursing Services, Dr Andrew Toro.
