CS Duale Joins African Ministers in Strategic Dialogue on Africa’s Health Future

Geneva, 17 May 2026 - Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Aden Duale, joined African health ministers and regional leaders in a high-level strategic dialogue ahead of the 79th World Health Assembly, focused on shaping Africa’s health future under the WHO African Region’s new framework, “A New Era of Health for Africa: United Action for Vision 2035.”

The engagement, convened under the leadership of WHO Regional Director for Africa, Dr. Mohammed Janabi, centred on building resilient, self-sustaining and integrated health systems capable of responding to Africa’s changing health needs.

CS Duale highlighted Kenya’s commitment to sustainable health financing, noting ongoing efforts to reduce overreliance on donor support through domestic resource mobilisation. He also underscored the critical role of Community Health Promoters as the backbone of primary healthcare and a key link in expanding equitable access to essential health services.

The session brought together health ministers, senior officials and policy leaders from across the continent to advance collective action towards a healthier Africa by 2035.
