Countrywide Assessment of Health Facilities for Level of Service

Nairobi Monday July17,2023 The Kenya Kwanza Government is committed to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and, to this end, has planned a countrywide assessment of health facilities. The main goal of this assessment is to determine the level of service provided by each facility, evaluate the availability of Human Resources for Health (HRH), and identify infrastructural and equipment gaps that need to be addressed.

To ensure a thorough and inclusive evaluation, various stakeholders have been involved in this initiative. These stakeholders include representatives from the Council of Governors, regulatory bodies under the Ministry of Health, faith-based organizations, the Kenya Association of Private Hospitals, the Kenya Health Federation, Rural Urban Private Hospital Associations, and others.

In pursuit of actualizing the directive from H.E President @WilliamsRuto, a stakeholders' meeting was convened today by Mary Muthoni, the Principal Secretary of the State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards. The meeting aimed to track the progress of the assessment and ensure that the objectives set forth are being effectively pursued.
