1st African Union Manufacturers Marketplace Meeting Sets Stage for Vaccine Access Progress

Morocco, 1st October 2023 -  Today's discussions at the 1st Manufacturers Marketplace meeting for African Union member states were centered around establishing the terms of reference for a ministerial working group. 

This group is responsible for guiding the development of the vaccine market for the continent and crafting the framework for pooled procurement. 

Kenya is playing a pivotal role in these efforts, with Mr. Harry Kimtai, the Principal Secretary for Medical Services, actively participating in the meeting together with BioVax Institute.  

Organized by Africa CDC in collaboration with GAVI and co-hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco, this meeting underscores the importance of manufacturing in the agenda of strengthening health systems for Africa's pandemic prevention, preparedness, and #response (PPPR) #NewPublicHealthOrder #PAVM
