Nairobi, Kenya - 13th May 2025 - The Ministry of Health, through the State Department for Medical Services, today engaged with Abbott Rapid Diagnostics to explore ways of strengthening Kenya’s diagnostic capabilities.

Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Dr. Ouma Oluga, hosted the Abbott team led by Mr. Khululiwe Mabaso. The team shared Abbott’s innovative diagnostic continuum of care and its contribution to advancing Kenya’s epidemic preparedness and Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda.

Dr. Oluga appreciated Abbott’s long-standing partnership and continued investment in enhancing Kenya’s healthcare system. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to work with partners to strengthen health security and improve service delivery for all Kenyans.
