PS Oluga Engages EMS Team on Emergency Medical Services

ɴᴀɪʀᴏʙɪ, ᴋᴇɴʏᴀ 20ᴛʜ ᴀᴜɢᴜꜱᴛ 2025

Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Dr. Ouma Oluga,  convened a meeting with the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team to review the work of E-Plus and explore opportunities for partnership in strengthening emergency response.

The discussions centered on E-Plus’ role in Kenya and the region, with a structured service delivery system supported by a fleet of 168 ambulances and an emergency operations center that coordinates rapid response.

Dr. Oluga also highlighted the Emergency Critical Illness Fund, whose services are available at Level Six health facilities, describing it as a vital safety net for patients in need of urgent care. He further emphasized the need to regulate ambulatory services to ensure accountability, efficiency, and equitable access to emergency medical care.

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Team comprised Susan Ngonga, Dr. Jackline Kitulu, Mahboub Maalim, Patrick Munga, and Paul Gondi.
