CS Duale Engages Boehringer Ingelheim on Strategic Health Collaboration
Nairobi, Kenya - - Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Aden Duale, held discussions with a delegation from Boehringer Ingelheim led by Chairperson Shashank Deshpande, to explore strategic collaboration in support of Kenya’s health priorities.
The engagement highlighted ongoing health sector reforms under Universal Health Coverage, with a focus on strengthening primary healthcare, expanding access to essential services, and building a more equitable and responsive system.
Discussions also underscored the rising burden of non-communicable diseases, with emphasis on shifting towards preventive and integrated care. Priority areas for collaboration include early detection and management of conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, capacity building for primary healthcare workers, and the use of data to improve service delivery.
The CS emphasised the importance of aligning partnerships with national reforms, including the rollout of Community Health Promoters and Taifa Care, to ensure sustainability, accountability, and measurable impact.
The meeting reaffirmed the potential of public-private collaboration in advancing Universal Health Coverage and improving health outcomes.
