The Ministry of Health, through the National Vaccines and Immunisation Program (NVIP) with support from PATH, is conducting county and sub-county stakeholder meetings across the country to strengthen routine immunisation.
On , , Machakos County, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, hosted a stakeholder engagement bringing together representatives from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior, Machakos County Government, civil society, religious leaders, development partners, and community-based organizations.
The meeting was officially opened by the Director of Public Health, Ann Wanyaga Mwaniki, who emphasized that immunisation remains the most effective protection for children against preventable diseases and urged stakeholders to champion vaccination efforts.
These forums form part of NVIP’s wider social advocacy strategy, designed to enhance public understanding of vaccines, dispel misconceptions, and foster stronger community support for immunisation services nationwide.
