NASCOP Strategizes for a New Annual Work Plan to Combat HIV/AIDS and STIs

Nanyuki, Kenya - 4th June 2024 - The National AIDS and STI Control Program (NASCOP) is currently in the process of crafting its new annual work plan for 2024/25. 

Under the guidance of Dr. Issak Bashir, Director of Family Health at the Ministry of Health, and Dr. Rose Wafula, Head of NASCOP, the workshop commenced on June 4th, with a strong emphasis on efficiency, teamwork, and transparency. 

Dr. Bashir advocated for the inclusion of a mental wellness program to address work-related challenges, assuring the team of the Ministry’s steadfast support in terms of technical assistance and human capital. 

 During the workshop, Dr. Rose Wafula, Head of NASCOP, expressed gratitude to the team for their resilience in overcoming obstacles and delivering exemplary results. She underscored the imperative need for increased investment in Human Resources and infrastructure to effectively fulfill NASCOP’s mandate. 

The new annual work plan underscores NASCOP’s unwavering commitment to combatting HIV/AIDS and STIs while prioritizing the enhancement of human resource and infrastructure capacities.
