Ministry To Incorporate Covid-19 Vaccination Into Routine Immunization.

Principal Secretary, Ministry of Health, State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards Dr Josephine Mburu has today held discussions with the Covid-19 Delivery Partnership Global Lead Mr. Ted Chaiban. They explored strategies for making Covid-19 vaccination sustainable.

The PS informed that the Ministry of Health is in the process of accelerating incorporation of covid-19 vaccination into routine immunization in order to reduce missed opportunities and increase coverage.

The PS reiterated the Government’s commitment to reach all eligible populations with the vaccine while prioritizing the high risk groups.

“We are also working to enhance pandemic preparedness in order to minimize the disruptions that were witnessed at the onset of the response to the Covid-19 pandemic.” She spoke.

The PS called on the partnership to support government plans to ensure sustainability of vaccination programmes.

The Covid-19 delivery partnership committed to support the Ministry of Health to meet the 2023 target for Covid-19 vaccinations.
