At the inaugural committee meeting convened by Keprecon in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Duke University, Principal Secretary for Medical Services Dr. Ouma Oluga outlined four priorities: sustainable health financing, system optimization, high-impact interventions, and catalytic investments to move innovations beyond pilot projects. He stressed that aligning financing with policy priorities is central to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and ensuring impact at the community level.

Prof. Fred Were guided the committeeโ€™s vision, underscoring the need to bridge the gap between research-driven solutions and systemic adoption to address pressing health priorities.

The forum, which brought together leaders from government, academia, civil society, and development partners, concluded with a pledge to champion innovation as a national priority and unlock the policy, financial, and systemic enablers needed to strengthen Kenyaโ€™s health system.
