The facility is intended to enhance access to specialized referral services for NPS personnel and their dependents, in line with Kenyaโ€™s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) priorities.

The meeting deliberated on several proposed management models aimed at fast-tracking the hospitalโ€™s operations, improving access to specialized care, and supporting the welfare of NPS officers while advancing UHC objectives.

CS Duale reaffirmed the Ministryโ€™s unwavering commitment to operationalizing the facility, including the provision of additional equipment through the National Equipment Services Programme (NESP) โ€” a government initiative designed to ensure continuous access to modern medical equipment in county health facilities.

The Cabinet Secretary was accompanied by the Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Dr. Ouma Oluga, and the Director General for Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth. The NPS delegation included Deputy Inspector General Gilbert Masengeli and Principal Administrative Secretary Ms. Bernice Sialaal.
