Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale onย , 2025 chaired a high-level meeting at Afya House with the Council of Governors, represented by CEO Ms. Mary Mwiti, and the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of the National Equipment Service Program (NESP), to accelerate the programmeโ€™s implementation across counties.

The meeting focused on a detailed review of NESPโ€™s rollout framework, aimed at strengthening public health facilities and ensuring effective operational arrangements for timely implementation.

Key deliberations included county-specific equipment placement and the need for structured sensitization of counties to enhance ownership and preparedness.

Hon. Duale commended the team for their commitment, reaffirming the programmeโ€™s central role in advancing Kenyaโ€™s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda by expanding access to affordable, quality healthcare services.

Also in attendance were the Principal Secretary for Medical Services Dr. Ouma Oluga, Health Advisor in the Executive Office of the President Dr. Wilson K. Aruasa, and PIU lead Dr. Isaac Kimani.
