Africa CDC And Mastercard Foundation Praise Progress In COVID-19 Vaccine Uptake In Kenya.
The Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Mastercard Foundation officials, led by Dr. Raji Tajudeen, recently paid a visit to the Principal Secretary of the State Department of Medical Services, Eng. Peter Tum. The purpose of their visit was to share the feedback they received from their recent trips to Kajiado and Kitui Counties.
The team was in the office to share their feedback from their recent visits to Kajiado and Kitui Counties, where they assessed the implementation of the Saving Lives & Livelihoods (SLL) project, which aims to accelerate COVID-19 vaccine uptake. Their observations were positive and praised the strong coordination and integration of immunization services with other Ministry of Health programs.
The Principal Secretary was grateful for the visit and thanked the team for their observations. He assured them of the government’s support and commitment to the Africa CDC and its efforts in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s evident that the progress made towards accelerating COVID-19 vaccine uptake and strengthening the health systems in Kenya is encouraging.
